AH4 – “A trip in time” performances08 août 2017
- To research and create a board game on how "body and mind: was perceived by the Romans and Greeks.
- To play this game with partnered schools to promote understanding of the research.
English students researched the culture and traditions of Romans and Greeks including their daily life and how they approached physical, emotional and mental well-being. They created posters of information on how they used different techniques and routines to promote well-being, for example the use of Roman baths.
The teachers then created a a quiz, in the style of Trivial Pursuits, at a transnational meeting.
Later in the year, French and English and Romanian students had to work together, at the congress visit to Romania, in order to complete the "Trivial Pursuits" board game, including the section created by English students back in Hull.
- This game helped students of all nationalities to learn about the Roman and Greek eras in a fun and stimulating environment, working together to translate and understand the fact sheets in order to complete the quiz as a team.
- Students benefited from team work when completing this quiz because different countries had created quizzes for different parts of the quiz. One English boy stated that he felt closer to the Romanian and French students after completing the quiz because they worked together and were successful, even though they all spoke different languages.
