-to understand the importance of exercise for the body and well-being, whilst having fun and building relationships with partner schools.
English, French and Romanian students went to Rebound Trampoline Park in Hull to experience a potentially new and different way of doing exercise in a fun and exhilarating environment. Students played dodgeball, fought for victory Gladiator-style, mastered the monkey bars, jumped off podiums and spent time generally bouncing around and having fun together - attempting flips if brave enough!
During their time at the centre, trainers offered advice on how to complete the activities and gave information about the health benefits of trampolining. These included: cardiovascular fitness, lymphatic function, improved balance and co-ordination, weight loss and maintaining general fitness.
Students had fun attempting the different challenges together, with most students leaving Rebound red in the face, slightly out of breath and wearing big smiles on their faces.
Amelia, from 7LGU, commented that she couldn’t believe that "you can have fun doing exercise!" whereas an older student commented that it was more difficult than playing rugby or completing rugby practice at school.
Students learnt about a new way of completing exercise that is fun and sociable and about the benefits of exercise for personal well-being.
