Aim:

- To learn about Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man in order to see proportions of a human body.

English and French students received a lesson on four famous art movements in history, which included the work of: Vinvent Van Gogh, David Hockney, Eduardo Paolozzi and Roy Lichtenstein.

In pairs, students analysed and described each artist's unique techniques and styles before being separated into groups of four to study the Vitruvius Man by Leonardo Da Vinci.

When studying the Vitruvian Man, the students focused on the four sections of the piece of art. Groups created their own versions of the Vitrivian Man, using the four famous art techniques and styles learnt this lesson. For example, pointillism, photomontage, collage and pop art.

- Students learned about the idea behind the Vitrivian man and its mathematical relevance as well as exploring other famous artists across a range of years.

- Students developed a strong sense of team work by working together in an artistic and creative environment.
