The students made some research about the vision and representation of the human body in different works of art from prehistory to the present time. They realized that from painting to sculpture, the body has figured prominently in the creative expression of nearly all cultures from the beginning of civilization. They saw that through art, the body becomes a site for defining individual identity, constructing ideals, and experimenting with the nature of representation itself. They perceived how different the representations evolved throughout time.
They selected some of them and made presentations, giving some information about the work of art. They added a personal comment, trying to explain the message conveyed by the artist in his/her representation of the human body.
