PH4 May I ask you a question?28 mai 2017
It is always better to prevent than cure. For celebrating the World Health Day we organized two days event ‘Światowy Dzień Zdrowia’. It consisted of a series of lectures, followed by presentation of projects made by students and a contest of general knowledge of human anatomy. We invited a dermatologist, a dietician, a chemistry PhD, presenting a lecture about doping and steroids used in sport, a psychologist speaking about depression, its symptoms, treatment and factors triggering this disease. Finally students took part in the workshops about diabetes. They could touch an insulin pomo, test their sugar levels with an glucose meter and learn about recognizing diabetes symptoms and ways of preventing this disease. After that students presented their projects, this year almost all of them concerned civilization diseases such as anorexia, bulimia, diabetes and correct postures. Students listening to the lectures were allowed to ask the questions and join the discussions following the lectures. After the presentations some attenders took part in a contest. They checked how much they had learned about human anatomy and physiology during regular classes and the lectures.
