•To research how to keep healthy in different situations.

•To apply ICT skills to create a PowerPoint or an electronic poster.

First of all, the group had a class discussion about what people needed to do to keep healthy. After they had discussed the basic needs to keep healthy, we then discussed what was necessary to keep healthy in different situations, such as when it is very hot and sunny or when it is very cold in the winter. Some students took it even further and decided to focus on how to keep specific parts of your body healthy, such as skin. Then, the students worked in pairs to research their chosen area of health. They were told to focus on how an 11 year old should keep healthy, as this activity aimed to help them understand what they needed to keep themselves healthy and how they could advise other students in their year group to keep healthy, or improve their health and fitness. Students then presented their posters/powerpoints to the rest of the class and held a final class discussion, after all pairs had presented their work, on what they had learnt from doing this activity.

All students produced a poster in pairs stating various things that 11 year olds needed to do in order to keep healthy. Then, the students presented their poster to the rest of the class and held a final class discussion on what new ideas they had learnt from completing this type of activity and the consequences of not having a healthy lifestyle.
