A group of students visited the Sociology Department in University of Gdansk, where students learned about asthma and diabetics. First they drew their own bodies, decorated them showing body parts which are important for them. Next they heard the lectures which involved presenting causes of these diseases, their symptoms, progress and stages, methods of treating them and rules which must be followed both the person who is ill and his or her realtives and friends. Next students tried to draw the symptoms and place them on body maps.

A lecture by a phisiologist from University of Phisical Education and Sport in Gdansk, Aleksander Kołodziejczyk, who talked about doping in sport. He showed us varoius types of doping drugs and presented a long history of enhancing human performance. He demonstrated how doping substances work and how harmful they turn out to be. Students were made familiar with a range of ailments and injuries caused by doping drugs. Drug taking is a controversial issue and there are those who are all in favour of legalization of enhancement. Before taking a stance, however, it is good to know about undesirable side-effects. Additionally we organized trips to science centres, to Hewelianum in Gdansk and Centre Experiment in Gdynia to provide students with occasion to see how models of human body work, how they collaborate and what they should do to stay fit and healthy.
