Aims and description:
•To use a recipe to make scones.
•To assess the quality of the scones by taste testing.
Students were split into groups of French, Portuguese and British students and were given a recipe to make scones. They had to work together in groups to prepare and bake a batch of scones. Once they had done this, the groups swapped scones to taste them all. The groups tested all scones and then voted for the scone that they thought was the best, in terms of taste, consistency and presentation.
All students were able to bake a batch of scones in groups. They were then able to assess the quality of the scones by tasting each batch and assessing the presentation and texture of each batch. The students were then able to vote for their favourite scone using the assessments listed above
