APE3- Dance clubs/Dance sessions13 janv. 2016
Students were taken into the dance studio at ASA to learn about Bollywood dancing. Firstly, they learnt about the culture behind Bollywood dancing and which culture it belonged to. Then, they explored the style of music used and the different dance techniques that make up Bollywood dancing. After each move was taught, the students practised the move together before moving onto the next move. After this, the students were split into groups and were asked to choreograph their own Bollywood dance using the music and the different dance techniques taught.
All of the students thoroughly enjoyed learning about the different techniques and body parts used to create a Bollywood dance. They all contributed to the dance created in groups and the success of this activity was so great that the theme of the school dance competition, Dance Raw, was Bollywood dancing. Therefore, the rest of the school learnt about Bollywood dancing and dressed in traditional Bollywood dress in order to complete their own dance in a competition.
